N O T I C E

Due to a chemical spill on a tributary to the Delaware River located in Bristol, PA, the Mantua MUA’s water supply interconnect with New Jersey American Water has been closed as a precaution.  The Mantua MUA has been in constant contact with New Jersey American Water since the duration of the spill.  All the water in our system is currently being produced by our own underground water wells located in Mantua Township ONLY. Our system has not and will not be affected by the spill.

*** Update ***

New Jersey American Water Company sent an update to all customers on Tuesday evening, March 28 stating that NO contaminants have been detected by the Federal, State and Utility companies testing the Delaware River water quality in the vicinity of the water plant in Delran, NJ.  They stated, “As more time passes and all river samples continue to show no detection of contaminant, we are more confident in drawing source water as needed to replenish our reserves.” 

As a result of this information, the Mantua MUA will resume importing bulk water purchased from the New Jersey American Water Company by re-opening our water main interconnect valve on Thursday morning, March 30.
